One of the first things I sold when E-Bay first started up was a Judson Magneto I bought for 10 bucks, sold it to a hot rodder in France for $150 + shipping. Proves it is true, "It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it".

Amazing stuff. I am also impressed with the quality of magazine articles from the '50s:

  8. Well I will stop after this post as it’s just a ton of stock flathead stuff & NASCAR Distributors left. But what we have here is pretty sweet. 3C691DC6-CEB4-4ED3-B77B-0B9248F29FB3.jpeg 57BCFE14-BD7D-45DD-A12B-8C7676406019.jpeg F52129E6-F901-4B28-95E7-66AA4E46757B.jpeg B40B0939-24ED-4557-828E-124E98544D52.jpeg F8AF8146-5A4B-409D-8D44-783C404E0B79.jpeg Today we have 3 Scheiffer mags for Chevys probably convert them to flatheads. 1 is NOS. 5 Lucas Ford flathead mags all NOS but been in damp storage & packaged bad shipping to me damaging caps & coil covers both hard to find. 5 Harmon & Collin’s flathead magnetos @ a hemi Scheiffer are waiting for me to rebuild. Last but not least is 3 sets of Vee drive Scintilla mags all in excellent condition. Hope all enjoyed. Cheers

Some really nice stuff you guys have. Question, do you guys sell anything, if so I have a good friend looking for a particular distributor to complete a restoration on his car?

I would suggest sending the person in question a PM, we do not allow buying and selling on the main board

I run a Goldspark 2 coil dist in my 324 Olds, was made for a later series Olds. It is identical to a W&H Ducoil dist except it is gold anodized. I foolishly removed the anodizing to make it look like a Ducoil. Anyone ever heard of Goldspark? Now a condenser tidbit. Take along an extra condenser. Attach an alligator terminal to the housing & another one to the wire. Any car brand condenser will work. When you are on a cruise & your condenser croaks simply connect your emergency cond To either end of the low tension wire that connects the coil to the dist. You can leave the original cond connected ( condensers fail in the open circuit condition) This works! Greg

Mr. Gasket bought W&H and they were the ones that did the goldspark distributors

Von Franco needed a Jackson Roto-Faze for the Cadillac engine Bonneville Butch was building for the 'Kookie Kar'.
I had this Roto Faze in my desk drawer, it was for a Cad. Frankie (his real name at the time) came in, I was working on something he asked a plethora of questions about...
I wanted to blow his mind, so I took him in the office, withdrew this Jackson Roto Faze, and he turned white!
I said, "You know what this is, right?" He just drooled and nodded.
I asked him how he'd like to have it...he begged me to trade him for his Scintilla Vertex mag. (I wanted a Vertex mag for my Chrysler Hemi)
I wanted to see the Kookie Kar clone finished, so we traded.
One cap was broken, but some years before I had asked Kong Jackson a million questions (Kong was a self-studied genius) and recalled he'd used 1932 Willys 4 cyl. rotors & caps.
I told Frankie there was a guy in Hemmings that had N.O.S. Willys parts, so he was able to get them.
I never realized that Crosley used the same caps/rotors...stands to reason, though...after some reading.

This is really intriguing. It sure looks like a die casting, which involves a pretty expensive permanent mold. Any information about it?

IMG_2618.JPG My friend Jack Largent brought this mag out of a pawn shop for $12 bucks, pestered me for over two years knowing how much I wanted it for my 235 Blue Flamer in my 54' Bel Air post, claimed he could'nt find it. One day I got a call from him, he's down at his shop, has the mag... Went there, the door was open he's holding up the unit, just threw my wallet across the room, said whatever it takes... Had Joe Hunt's shop go thru it, that's most of twenty years ago.

Looks like Canadian Ford as well. Alcan is the Aluminum Company of Canada.

  30. A couple of my ignition conversions. First is installing a late model Chrysler electronic distributor on my 331 hemi replacing the cast iron dual point unit. Weld a 1/4" extension tab on the shaft and the distributor is a bolt on. Then wire in the transistor module and all set. I added an MSD5 ignition module for smoother operation.

Second is converting a stock Chevy 235 to Chrysler electronic ignition. Machined the shaft to accept a junk yard late model Chrysler 6-cyl inductor wheel, adapted the inductor coil to the points plate, wired in a Chrysler transistor module.
