Technical Flathead runs rough after acceleration and has therewith oil pressure drop

    Wow. I just read threw the whole process. Nice find, and b4 gernading. Congrats. Ive learned alittle to watch out for. The vacumm pic is nice info to look back on. Very detailed to say da least. The new cap looks up to the challenge. Keep us updated

    According to my much olde uncle (80+ years old) who raced for many, many years, the center cap on the flattys was always the weak link. "I can't tell you how many I have cracked". Good work following your intuition and opening up the engine.

  3. No, not anymore, I’ve seen more than a few engines with over a million on them with original rod and main bearings. I’ve overhauled Internationals with 500,000 on them due to leaking liner seals that the rod and mains looked new. I really believe that the oils have gotten so good that if you change the oil regularly, bearing wear is a thing of the past.

    I printed the vacuum guage page off,it is handy to have,saves looking for it when you need it,ill post it on my shop wall.;)
