One of them newfangled monkey motion motors.
    Nice.
Had to do a little research after seeing your engine. I didn't realize that Lincoln came out with their overhead valve engine 2 years before Ford.
Hope you do well in the Mexican road race. LOL

  9. Viewing the pictures show that the passenger side exhaust manifold has some sort of "flange" on the front side.

Thats not a stock item. Is that for a turbo ? Or for test purposes?

from the crossover tube. Probably couldn't or didn't find a manifold to fit the pass side without the flange.

Dead stock. Used as mock up to modify an FE blowshield to bolt to Y block Lincoln. Also planned to use 317 crank in 368 as a destroker to make class. 368 and blowshield long gone.

The 312 T-bird Special was rated at 245 horse power. Not sure of the 317 specs, but I would hope it’s North of 200 Horsepower!?

Low on H P, but Lot a torque and 1952 Lincoln won Pan American road races . They also did well in their class for gas miliag.

'56-'57 Lincoln exhaust manifolds/downpipes will fit(slight massaging) the '52-'54 chassis & give good results. To those who don't know they look like stock parts(which they are, just different years)

  19. Will truck rams horns fit those
The ones from a MEL industrial engine?

MEL won’t fit Y-block. Don’t know if Ford Y-block exhaust will fit Lincoln Y-block.

Ford used the Lincolns in their bigger trucks and they had the rams horns manifolds on them.

NO the 292/312 Y-Block exhaust manifolds don't fit, but the '64 & earlier F-8 ECU engines are the same as Lincoln, & while the ram horns will bolt on to the Lincoln motors, the exhaust pipe routing might be "interesting"(I didn't try them on my '53 Cosmopolitan back in the day because I already had the '56/'57 Lincoln car manifolds/down pipes at hand & they fit nicely & looked good.) If you have a set, go ahead & try them & then YOU can report back about how well they fit!!!

If you do find a post '57 through '64 F-8 motor, look at the INTAKE MANIFOLD! It is drilled for the 4bbl 4150/4160 Holley Carb(instead of the '53-'57 Lincoln manifold that's "sunken" for the "teapot" Holley smallbase carb)

That hot pipe running across the front of the engine was not one of Ford's better ideas.....
Nice engine. Post a video of the dyno runs.

This is actual a stock engine for a 1954 Lincoln 8:11 compression, We final found one exhaust with out the front pipe and caped the other one. Were at 250 foot pounds of tq and 155 hp which seams under what everyone things it should be. It took us a day to figure out how to get the secondary's to open. Also changed to a 12v protronics we will finish up this saturday

Does it have the Tea-pot carb? If it does and has the stock 54 cam. It will be considerably lower than the 57 T-bird special at 245. But I still think it should be more than 155, but maybe not!

I believe stock carb for that year with a stock camshaft will send final numbers next week

I have a Lincoln small base Carter WCFB that was used with the later engine. I believe it’s still for a Load-matic ignition. The Carter’s just make everything easier. And stock this engine should be close to 200 hp as squirrel showed probably at less than 5000 rpm.
