    I have 3:55s in my 55 26' tires.
    The 327 turned 3000 rpm at 70.
Out with the turbo 350 and in with the 200r4. Dropped to 2000 rpm at 70 with the overdrive. You can have your cake and eat it too with overdrive tranny.
    My 2cents.

Thanks for the information, planning of changing transmission also. I'm running 235x75x15 (rear) which are 28.9", so would be less then your rpm's. What RPM's where you running at 60mph with the 3:55? What all did you have to change going from powerglide to 200r4?

We changed ours to a 700R about 10 years ago but also changed the rear end to a 69 Camaro posi with I think 3;42 ratio. Still has the snotty 327 Scoots right along but wife swears it was faster 0-60 with the glide. She ran it for years with the glide with 3:55's and sometimes a 4:11 posi.

You can use , GEAR RATIO CALCULATOR MPH by Spicer. To figure out any gear, tire ratio combo. For the transs swap:
You need an aftermarket crossmember and side eng mounts. Also TV cable needs to be properly set up and adjusted. Sounds harder than the actual procedure. Everything is on you tube. Lol Screenshot_20201011-221917_Chrome.jpeg

Thanks for information. I did do a calculator on different chart. Show me about 2450 rpm's at 65mph. with my present setup. and new 3:50 rearend. Thinking of using this as long as I don't have high performance engine and with my front motor mounts.

2450 is not too bad, your taller tires help. Problem is lots of times 65 is too slow for some highways where everyone does 80 :(

I have had a few different gears in the 57, 3.70, 3.55, and currently 3.36. The 3.36 gears are really good on the highway with 30" tires, but I cannot wait to put my 4.10 posi in there
