I'm pretty sure I posted The Stud in this thread : https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ome-on-post-pictures-of-what-you-like.132391/ It was sometime ago but I think I posted the name because it was so unusual so maybe a name search of that thread will find it. Sorry but I'm on the way out the door or I would search for you.
Trying to imagine the conversation... The Stud's friend: "I don't know, man. The display looks good, but it's missing something. What if we strapped a toboggan to the roof?" The Stud: "Bitchin'."
I believe the "Stud" was from Canada, hence the toboggan instead of a surf board. Kinda clever actually. Mick
It also appears to have had an intake change between the two photos. Looks like a single carburetor in the photograph of the rear of the car.
Love the car and the heavy pinstriping. id be thrilled to let it sit in my garage... well it wouldnt sit, id drive the crap out of it
Very cool car overall. One of the intriquing details is the headliner. Can't tell if it's formed sheetmetal or some sort of satin material, but pretty cool either way.
Fantastic post! The topic in general, the supplied photos, the story and the car in question. All fantastic. You’ve been really nailing it the last couple months man. Great job.
Thanks, @Tim! Much appreciated. I'm feeling very involved across the board and I think that's helping a whole lot.
I've shared that Hotrod...a few times...just love the blasts from the past...it's actually the same period as my Ole Jalopy...that mill sits up real High N' Mighty...connecting the dots even better...
You do know that Joey’s a young guy (unlike most of us), right?! He really works at finding relevant topics to share with us and then puts his spin on it. Now that he has a project of his own, I believe that the contributions will be even better (No pressure)!
Great post. This is very much the type of thing Pat Ganahl would have in his blogs. Great to see a young guy carrying it on.
Yep, the toboggan on the roof is a stroke of genius! Judging by what I can see of the license plate I'm about 94.7% sure the car in the photo is (or was at one time) from Minnesota. Here's an image of a 1960 Mn license plate: The letter/number sequence/layout matches I think. Based on that I did pass some info along to Joey that may help him track down more info if he's so inclined. I'm sure if he does come up with something we'll see it here. I agree, Joey does a great job with his posts. Very cool reading!
If you are far from the ocean, a toboggan or wooden skis on the roof is a million times cooler than an orphaned surfboard.
