That body went together quickly. Amazing work as always! You make it look so easy

    Folded bottom edge passenger side
Worked the edge slowly with vise grips and pliers
Followed by thousands of light taps of hammer on dolly

Again, will need some more massaging but it is getting close

    Beautiful!
Any thoughts of pulling a mold after the body is straight?

Thanks, no but I have thought it sure would be easier to start with one, a glass body that is.

    Thanks man,
    still looks crude to me,
especially when there are so many examples of near perfect metal shaping out there.

  11. Paul, not everybody has a Pulmax! You are doing it your way which is likely the way most of us would do it. Great job, great pics thanks for all your input.

Scored a very nice door, straight and solid.
Glad I took the time to shape the bottom of the repaired door and jamb to match the original because this one will fit nice with little work.

Spent way too long on a couple body support pieces.
Traced the latch side door jambs from wood pattern,
    cut them out,
    split them up the middle,
    transfered them to steel tube,
sliced the tube on the band saw,
    cleaned them up,
    bent them to shape,
    welded them together,
    ground them smooth
    and test fit..
Only took about two hours each..

Paul. Could you possibly get them plasma cut or water jet into plate and just tack them together? Might save a ton of time. Just a thought.

I plan to do something like that for the top rails.

And drawing them up in Cad, finding someone to cut the pieces and then waiting for them to get cut could take weeks and cost hundreds, this felt like it took too long but really only took a day and cost very little money.
