Glad to see the build is still progressing, although undoubtedly slower than you had wished. Keep the updates coming and good luck.

Ok-new paint and body guy is getting after it! First coat of black sealer applied. If all goes well, paint goes on tomorrow. After that, we’ll start assembling the car! [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Tim-you know it. We’ve been calling this “the never ending project”. The body has been in primer for a year now, so it’s exciting to see some color on it again.

Riff...exciting times indeed and of course you have embarked on a journey where expeditious doesn't happen many times but you are getting it done...high praise and your starting to taste the turning key...

I am not criticizing but am curious about the fwd lower rear wheelwell area how there is a unjoined section to the quarter panel...you're running fenders which will cover the now obvious but does it fit into something. What's the plan, to close it with sealant...or leave as is...I suspect the floors installed have sealed off that area making the need to do anything there unnecessary...I do know from having an A Coupe on a 32 frame that that area does require mods that the Fabricator I had did some magic to make it all happen...

The trunk lid and doors...jeeze they came out real snazzy...

How about a chassis teaser shot to furthur energizes us Eager Beavers...;)

Hey Stogy-good to hear from you! The original wheel wells had been cut out and there were just two heavy gauge steel plates bolted there, so our fabricator made a new set, bead-rolled an authentic-looking pattern, and welded them in place. And you are correct, since this is a full-fendered car, he didn’t worry about filling in that small cut-out.

Ford? Just kidding. Low Down - I would normally agree with you, but isn’t this a member-only, password-required forum? And I’ll bet there aren’t too many women and children on here. No big deal.

Paint is officially in progress. Looks real good. Body and rear fenders done. Next are front fenders and running boards. The previous painter did the doors and trunk lid before he bailed, so new painter will touch them up. Assembly will start in next 2-3 weeks. More updates pending...[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

More updates-making progress every week now. Rear fenders on, front fenders tomorrow. Seat and door panels should be installed in next 2-3 weeks. Motor complete with fuel delivery. Video coming. [IMG][IMG] IMG_2819.JPG Still trying to find someone to refurbish the old 2-piece Sun tachometer. Tried the companies listed on the H.A.M.B. but no response.

Don't get silly notions in your head about not using the fenders now.

Here’s the post Ryan made talking about the tach being rebuild in his shoebox with a link to the rebuilder

    https://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=37526

if you search Ryan and Sun tach a good bunch of threads on the subject of rebuilding them comes up as well.
