Anyone know what this transmission might've came out of? Ford, GM? Looks to be a 3 speed with an overdrive. Thank you

Thank you! That makes total sense! I'm helping my neighbor clear out a shed, and she told me a while back ago that her late husband had some studebaker parts. Thanks again!

I agree with squirrel. It's a T96 of some sort (4 bolt top cover). Could be Willys, Nash or Studebaker, those are the only three that come to mind that used that transmission. The pattern looks off to me for Stude, but it could be the angle. Some of the OD parts are interchangeable with other makes. Other than that it's a fairly light duty job.

A casting number would confirm it, but I think that is the Borg Warner T-96 and it sure looks just like the one I rebuilt recently for a Kaiser (the small sports car)

This is a heavier duty T86 note the 6 bolt top cover, the six bolt pattern is shared with the T90 as well, but the T90s were are predominantly top shifted as opposed to the side shifted T86s.

The OP posted a 4 bolt top cover. We can also see it's a short shaft version meaning that whatever it's application used a two piece drive shaft (common to at least Studebaker until '57ish). Being short output shaft transmission, it likely has a 6 volt solenoid. Again the bell housing pattern looks more like the squat late Chevy pattern as opposed to the tall Ford-like pattern in the eBay ad.

I can't recall the exact specs, but a T96 is only good for about 120hp tops and maybe 200 lb-ft of torque.
