Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Christie, Oct 7, 2020.

  1. Has anyone ever used the plastic trim molding clips? If so, any techniques and or suggestions? [IMG]

    Crap. Buy the metal ones.

  3. I agree, the metal ones are considerably better, the plastic ones become brittle when subjected to the heat & cold.

These are available in several different sizes. HRP

Restoration Specialists & Supply carries ever size. That catalog is so valuable with actual size part art.

It's actually Restoration Specialties. But, I agree with your assessment. Good folks to deal with. https://www.restorationspecialties.com/

  7. You might check the local body shop supply house, most carry the universal clips in stock and can be considerably less expensive than some of the online places. HRP

If you look through Restoration Specialties catalog it is amazing how much engineering time and money was spent on creating individual clips of seemingly infinite design. It would have been so much easier and cheaper to create a few universal clips. At least within the same company or division.

I always give them a quick paint job, some rust faster than others.

Well, let's face it. They were designed for the limited lifespan of a new car. No real expense undertaken to make the more than "temporary".

Ones with thread studs are fine if you can get to them.
