Hey guys... New project in the New Shop... I'm working with a friend... Another friend... (Not the talented metalshaping guy)
We join forces to get some work done for some clients.
We make a deuce frame table for reproduce 32 rails (intended to sell the frames) The frame in the picture is a reproduction frame (handmade by my old metalshaping friend) The jig es also for make all the welding, mock up the axles, the engine Etc
The new reproduction frames are plasma cuted in one section... The idea is make the reveal and welding all the plates in the jig. (Jig was made with an NOS 32 frame)

Moving to the model A on deuce rails... Front axle is a 4" dropped original Studebaker... Needs to modify for a buggy spring.
Engine is a Mercury 53' flathead
    7.50 and 6.00 steelies
We need to determinated a lot of things too...

  5. Rear sub-rails on the body was taken apart sometime ago... This particular project was expected to sit on a modify model A Ford frame with a kick up at the rear from previous owner...
Today I made some mods on the width of the rails because I don't want to pinch the rails... I put some spacers and gave less overall width to the frame.
Rear sub-rails and wheel wells were a mess...They had some poor patch panels and a lot of rust, so I'll try to removing all...
Tomorrow I made some mods on the front to make the body sit flats on the 32 rails and make a little mock up.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  11. Working on the cowl mini channel before sandblasting... It's great to work like this because it's easy to move and positioning the cowl best for measure and cut!![IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  16. The body and subrails are in good condition, sheetmetal looks original, you have better material to work with then I do for that roadster. It must have spent quite a while under cover down there in the tropics. Looking forward.

  17. Yeah... In general the condition is good for an 80 years body... Have some pitting in the sub-rails and corrosion too...The right quarter it's seems was crack and welding sometime in the past... but still have a deep punch in there.
I'll need to take care of the trunk lid... It's in bad shape...

Wow, your quarter panels still had the attaching points to the subrails, I'm jealous.
Great project bro, keep up the great work

You got a rough one to revive .... I'll follow along with you.

  25. The first pieces sandblasted and painted with the wash primer...
I decide to save the front rails because there were a guide for me to know we're the cowl and quarters were attached with the rivets... They are extremely pitting by corrosion but I think I can make some patches and saved.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
