I've searched, and my eyes hurt. Thinking this might belong to Pontiac, but...? 10 1/4" across. What say you?
It might be an aftermarket generic hubcap. Or it might be something you haven't thought to search for, specifically. I don't recognize it, and since it doesn't have an emblem or design, and car makers were pretty good about putting their trademark on hubcaps, that's why I think it might be generic.
We can all take a guess on what it might fit, but like "squirrel" implies, without pictures, it's just a guess...
Just curious, is this something that you are only going to hang on a wall, or do you have a full set of them ?
I have eight of them actually, in varying conditions. Did a lenghty search of Olds, Pontiac, Plymouth, Buick, and DeSoto to no avail. Want to know what they belong to so I can be somewhat informed if I decide to use them or offer them for sale. Pontiac was my first thought based solely on the ribs in the center, but no markings anywhere. Nice rolled inside lip at the mounting area, but that’s about it.
I bet they were made for house trailers as a generic hubcap. That may be why nothing is showing up on a web search, I have seen hub caps very similar to those and they were for some obscure travel trailer. Now you can do down the rabbit hole trying to find out which one, if in fact they are for a travel trailer. Very cool that you have 8 of them. Some Flitz metal polish will make them shine up very well. Good luck on your web search.
'55 Plymouth. A few years later, Dodge pickups used them. If you could show the back, we'll see where the flange is secured by the 5 spring clips
Dang - the first post has a picture....it's a 1955/56 Plymouth base hub cap......and sorry I'm late to the party.....
