My 37 dash , sometimes wish the glove box door wasn't leaded in .

 

46 olds dash i put in my 40 chev truck. had to narrow the dash and the chrome

Shift-O-Guide Speedometer moved to the center
Ashtray delete / Glove box lengthened
Gauges on hinged mount
Trico fan - vacuum operated

Still working on my dash. Just mocked, at the moment.

It will be chromed with tri-5 light and ignition switches. That gauge mount, below, is something I'm seeing if I like or not.

Your dash looks great, nice and understated. The center detail and the gauges supply plenty of chrome, I'd paint it and let the center piece be... well, the centerpiece. The whole thing in chrome is gonna be a lot of shiny in one place. JMHO.

 

I hear ya... but it's a sixties era hot rod. I don't want understated.



Not the best pic but this car's dash is absolutely killer in person. I can only imagine how incredible it was when the car was fresh.

My "almost finished " Deuce Rdstr.

 

This is a great thread. You look at the hood, steering wheel and the dash the most. They should be the best.

 

I've always been a fan of 40 Ford dashes in 32 Fords. Here are four of them I installed in some of my past Deuces.

 

Here's the dash in our Deuce 5wd Coupe (circa 1973) ...

Gauges from left to right:

* Stewart Warner "WATER TEMP" ( 100 - 250 ) {hidden behind steering wheel}
* Stewart Warner "OIL TEMP" ( 100 - 270 )
* Stewart Warner "OIL PRESSURE" ( 0 - 100 )
* SUN electric tachometer "R.P.M. THOUSANDS" ( 0 - 8.5 )
* Stewart Warner speedometer "MILES PER HOUR" ( 0 - 160 )
* Stewart Warner "VACUUM INCHES" ( 0 - 30 )
* Stewart Warner "AMPERES" ( -60 | +60 )
* Stewart Warner "FUEL" ( E | 1/2 | F )

... Fast forward to today ... the same dash/gauges are still there! ...

Work in progress on my 46 Olds: Before, during - new woodgrain & chrome (Albeit dusty) and soon to be finished with all new modern gauge movements? I want it looking totally OEM & stock apart from column mounted tacho pod and pearled steering wheel

 

This is what I will be using in my 29 roadster!

I've always been a fan of 55 Chevy dashes. Narrowed up a couple of these. One for my old 36 3W and my old 40 coupe.
