Need guidance- We have a 1935 3 window that came with a later tranny and matching Ford column
shifter that has always worked fine. Until now. After I slide the rear back , Will I have enough room to
get the tranny out the bottom , past the original crossmember?? Or will it have to come out thru
    the interior?? Thank You!!

If you mean later as in 40 Ford trans, it will need to come out from the top. If you mean later as in decades, maybe the X member was modified to let it come out below.

Are you sure the problem is in the trans, not the shift linkage?

It is a 40 style stock Ford trans with NO mods to the original frame or crossmember. Thank You

It's safer to remove the seat, it will give you more room to work, without potential damage to it. Remove the transmission from the top. Don't forget to support the engine with a jack or some such...
