I'm slowly putting together my 47 Ford and juggling different ideas. Not having an interior gives me a lot of opportunity to have some fun with it. My 32 sedan has arm rests from I think a 49 Chevy. Sorry no pic, but they are short, have a hole to pull through, and seem to fit the car well. Easy to mount to a flat surface. Maybe google has some pics?

Alchemy's suggestion is great - those GM '49 - 52 "A" body units are good looking, easy to find, & simple to mount. Most of the ones from the rear seat (on 2 door bodies) have an ashtray, too !
If you have any vintage wrecking yards around , go check them out . Probably a part that is not missing very often .
The original arm rest in the Ranch Wagon were plastic and they had a vinyl covered top, the plastic had deteriorated and become brittle, in my looking for something similar I found these on Dennis Carpenters web site. He has a lot of different style armrest listed. HRP Dennis Carpenter armrest
Early 50's Chevy cars had a polished stainless strip running the length of the armrest, dividing the padded top from the cast plastic base. They look good in a lot of older hotrods. I put them in my '39 Chev.
The Chevy ones are all metal except for the padded top. No plastic in them. And they cost me $10 at a swap meet.
Unlike today with all the phones that can grab a pic. Back in the 60's,thinking about get a pic,kind of stopped what we were doing. Still wished I had a lot more old pic's. The idea I'll pass along is what I had done for a buddy's custom; He didn't want the arm rest there all the time? never did a full why for that. But I made him a folding one,it folded down and when up,was a bit into the door panel. Made the metal /hinge part out of house door hinge,mounted so it folded back ward so stopped at 90*< most door hinge do that.
The Chevy passenger car arm rests work great. Be aware that for Chevy trucks, from '49 to '54, the reproduction armrests are plastic, and tend to break pretty easily after closing the door so many times. It is a poor design and they come with a note recommending that you fill in the void space with epoxy filler. I finally designed my own sheet metal reinforcing strip that took care of it.
I have used Nissan pickup arm rests in my 40’s and like them a lot. Easy to mount, easy to look at and cheap in the salvages. At least used to be.

The short one is probably from a Fairlane or Falcon as Ford used very similar styling in the various models for this stuff in those years. The front armrests look like '63 Galaxie, the long rear one is their match. If you want something custom, ever think about carving some out of wood, use some metal reinforcement for attaching to the doors, then covering the result?
That's what I did for our El Camino build. Dark gray is a wooden construct, light gray is a sheet steel shape with 1 1/2" foam rubber glued on, both then upholstered.
A lot of those look pretty bulky to me. My car is narrow enough inside already. So I took a piece of 2x4 (yes lumber) and cut away everything that didn't look like the armrest I wanted. Sorry, no pics. my 2 cents .bjb
