Need guidance- We have a 1935 3 window that came with a later tranny and matching Ford column shifter that has always worked fine. Until now. After I slide the rear back , Will I have enough room to get the tranny out the bottom , past the original crossmember?? Or will it have to come out thru the interior?? Thank You!!
If you mean later as in 40 Ford trans, it will need to come out from the top. If you mean later as in decades, maybe the X member was modified to let it come out below.
It's safer to remove the seat, it will give you more room to work, without potential damage to it. Remove the transmission from the top. Don't forget to support the engine with a jack or some such...
Yep out through the interior , done the Job many times , out with the seat base is the way to go slip the diff a little , Ive a set of stands made for the job ,had the trans out of my fords many time s I keep a spare rebuilt one , at the ready
