My parents sold their t bucket to have me. I've heard stories of the fun they had for my entire life. Last year I found a decent deal on faceboo marketplace and bought a wrecked car. I wanted to have it done in may, but reality sunk in, and i went overboard on the build, but it's now together.
Tried my best to knock the 90s off and give it some more traditional vibe.

Needs finishing details, glass is being cut, but here's some of my work.
A few how I got it, and a b.w. of dad and his.

I'd double like your post if I could. Good story, and a good reason, too. Are your parents still around? If so, when do they get to borrow it?

  6. If you did that in a year, I am impressed! Every car I have built takes two years no matter how dedicated I am to the build.

  7. LOL 2 years? 1 year?:p hell I am not sure that anything I have ever owned is ever really finished.:D

    @Gearhead Graphics
Looks good, I really like the T bucket. I wish I had the intestinal fortitude to build one that nice.

BTW I got a testicle I don't really need (and a nice nickel 27 grill shell) if you want me to own that deuce grill shell.:D

1 year and 1 week since I bought it and tore it apart.
Parents are still around. Camshaft went flat on the dyno last night, so I've gotta fix that. After that, they can drive it whenever! My 57 lives at their house now, they put more miles on it than me.

paint is a modern interpretation of the colors of theirs. Bigger tire combo than they ran, I did a little of it here and there my style.
Need a windshield and to finish upholstery. The bed cover is done, need sides and carpet.

At least 1 day a weekend, usually 3, and most nights after work. Single, no kids, dont do bars... all I do is cars. Maybe that's why I'm single.

@porknbeaner that 32 shell is a fiberglass POS, and its busted all to hell. You probably dont really want it.

@partssaloon I cant rember brand off hand (not a major label) 33/12.5r15. theyre the least aggressive tread i could find in that size. wanted big, but didnt want to go with a hoosier or mickey thompson type tire that i couldnt find a replacement for without ordering it. drawback to them, i might need a lower rear gear!

  12. Probably not. But it was fun to offer.
BTW if it was busted up and you sold it to me I know you would tell me first and that is a damned good quality in a man. ;)

Great job but one thing to me I’d do is put smooth radiator hoses on. Don’t take that as a personal jab. I could be minority. Good stuff in quick time.

@swade41, no door. I did think about cutting one in. But the way the body is channeled over the frame the floor is above the door line on the car. That and the fiberglass was really warped. Would have been a major pain in my ass

@rusty rocket thank you. the unibody has been my toy the last 10 years. under the hood is an intake we cant talk about here, but otherwise pretty standard build, its a lot of fun, hard to keep tires on the rear!

@392 yeah, i like smooth hoses, it was a matter of getting hoses that fit the small space. Just enough curve that it was a pain to go to NAPA and sort through, so I went flex. For now they work, will see if they stay or go

Jeff, you should be very proud of the work you have done. The "T" looks fantastic and is great tribute to your parents.

Looks like Nexen Roadian. I too am running this size tire but in a BFG Sport Truck TA. They have a more standard street tread and plainer sidewall. They are no longer produced but I found this pair that had never been mounted at a swap meet a few years ago. I will need to keep these Nexens in mind if I need replacements.

No surprise you're a graphics guy, you were able to spot potential where others probably didn't.

Great job, that's a ride to be proud of! And great story too.
