    Hello,

We have seen a 1950-51 Chevy sedan delivery on a flatbed tow truck, in the HAMB classifieds and now in a recent movie called the “Vast of Night.” The sedan delivery was in a parking lot of the community high school gym main lot. Back in the small towns, the whole community went to the basketball games and this scene depicts what the parking lot looked like during the 1950s.

We have seen plenty of movies with old cars in the period correct era for the times. It would be a fun job for being the person to set up the shots for the part of the movie. If several scenes at the community high school gym, the cars are all lined up for a panoramic shot. Then somehow, as the movie spreads its viewing area, some of the cars are somehow moved to new parking locations.

The 55 Chevy and the 56 Ford moved from scene to scene. The 50 Chevy sedan delivery and 58 Impala stayed in the same spots throughout the scenes. Gremlins or active teenagers, you be the judge… For us, it was the first time that a hot rod sedan delivery was showcased in any parking lot, of the movies we have watched during this pandemic.

As a former attendee of our own community gatherings of teenage high school cars parked in a lot next to the basketball gym, cars do get moved over the course of the games. It usually depended on what the teenagers did during the time outs and half time. Sometimes, a dance at the community center took precedence, as the basketball blowout on the gym’s wooden floor was not interesting enough to keep us there. Well, there were other times, too.

Man that yellow one up there looks great with the mild chop... that said my new freezer would have never fit if I had chopped mine.
