The great Don Branson celebrates after winning the feature at New Bremen on August 16, 1964. Driving Jud Phillips' Offy, Don beat a charging Mario Andretti under the checker, with Jud Larson a close third. Wonder what's going through the young man's mind as he studies the Wynns Special, at the front of the car? At his age, I would've been awed to be there, and thinking, "One day I'll drive one of those beauties!"
Ralph Hepburn tries to determine what's wrong with his Novi, as the 1946 Indianapolis 500 roars on behind him. Ralph set quick time in qualifying with the then new Novi but started 19th because of a late run. The official cause of the failure was stalling. In 1948 Ralph would die in one of the Novis. Parnelli Jones ready to run the good looking Leader Card midget at Kokomo in 1961. Parnelli was so versatile, he ran and won in just about everything! Parnelli won 25 USAC midget features, without dedicating his full attention to them. Ralph Wilke, car owner on the far left.
