True, they’re something different than the everyday stuff we see...AND, so much more affordable!

I'm also a sucker for some Austin Devon gassers!

Not sure if an altered is kosher here but I've always liked this Chevy II four door.

    Hello,

In 1959, at the Riverside Raceway, I took these movies with the afternoon sunspots coming into the lens as I moved the camera to capture the action. A week later, during this time period late 59-early 1960, everyone that came over to my house said those were messing up the action and were a distraction. I was just a kid with an old movie camera. Geez...

Jump up 61 years later and the digital frame by frame editing brings back those artsy shadows or reflections. Now, it is an accepted method of showing true life action and color. No distractions for inclusion in Hollywood movies, so for old home movies, it comes back around. Yea!

So far, there has been no identification of the powerful Willys 4 door sedan in the designated, original, Gas Coupe and Sedan Classes. It was impressive standing at the starting line and when the Willys sedan took off, the noise was music to my ears. The 38 Chevy coupe had no chance from the start. Then all of a sudden, the Willys shifted and the nose came up off of the ground in the shift. That is power. One would think that a competitive Gas Coupe/Sedan Class race car would have been a known identification.

Someone mentioned the Weddle/Nichols record setting Willys 4 door sedan that was breaking records left and right in So Cal dragstrips. But, no, that (ENGLE CAM SPONSORED) green Willys sedan was parked just down the pits area in all its fast, cool looking glory.

Probably the only Packard ever built into a gasser as well.
