It’s been a while since I bought any paint. Went to the finish shop today and dropped some change on some quarts. I need to practice as it’s been a while since I have filled a spray gun with automotive paint. I have to read up on this as it looks like a science project. Back in the day you mixed lacquer thinner or enamel reducer and started spraying.
Make sure you read up about the safety aspects of modern catalized paints as well. They are nothing like lacquer in that aspect either. Sent from my SM-G950W using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I have been touching on that also. Sounds like some nasty stuff. I remember spraying a couple frames years ago with Emron. That stuff was nasty.
I painted many a vehicles and motorcycles with Imron. One hell of durable paint. Tough as nails. But it was only as good as the primer used beneath it. Lacquer primer was used in the 70’s but we found out water would undermine and rust would attack from underneath. We discovered Corlar epoxy primer and used it as a substrate under the Imron and that made Imron hold up for a lot longer . If a vehicle was dipped in Corlar epoxy primer then dipped in Imron it would last for??? Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
