Hey guys. Al here in SWFL. Just realized I never introduced myself here. I did it at The Barn back in March when I joined but not here. I worked as an A&P mechanic from ‘87 to ‘01 at JFK for Pan Am then American. 911 happened, decided to leave airlines and went into the bike repair/building business from then till 2016 when the wife and I decided it was time to leave the rotten apple and moved to Florida. Now only working PT at a custom bike shop so we can enjoy life more. Have had many OT muscle cars and Harleys over the years. Currently have a 52 F2. 239 EAB heads dual 94’s and non synchro 4 spd. Soon to swap in aT5. Learning a lot from the forum, hope to be able to contribute as well. Glad to be here. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Hi & welcome. Nice looking ride. Back in 1953 when I got my drivers license I did the driving test in dads old 3/4 ton F1 with 4 on floor & granny low. Jimmie
Thanks Jimmie! The spur gear 4 spd is definitely cool to drive, I like the whining it makes, sounds like a beast coming down the road. Plus it’s like almost an anti theft device. Most people don’t know how to double clutch or shift without the clutch. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Welcome from Indiana! I worked for an A&P for many years when I started in the automotive repair in the 80’s. He left aviation in ‘77 to open his own automotive shop that I joined a few years later. Great mechanic and a genius w hot rods. Here’s his blown ‘55. Enjoy your H.A.M.B. time. Nice truck! Regards, Randy Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
