while watching local News the helicopter flew over the Sacramento Raceway - there were trailers, etc for some type of drag racing -turns out that track can be rented for private test'n'tune events - also, a couple of Nites a week street legal drag events go on, plus some motocross racing - coming up this weekend September 25 special test'n'tune for drags Saturday Sept 26 - this is the MoPar Shootout - all Dodge, Chrysler & Plymouth powered or bodied vehicles - also, car show & swap meet - the Grand Stands are closed - bring own chairs - some parking along fences to watch from your ride - I did not know that anything is going on there
Over all a good day - Plenty of race cars, not all MoPar, and cars for show- very small swap area but, not unusual for a special focus event - lacking spectators, from what I have seen at events here grandstands were open but, announcement mad to remind people to social distance - wear masks at starting line area, etc - close to Noon a car had a failure and oiled one lane - racing was to be stopped about an hour - wind started to pick up -
Was there last weekend for the Governor’s Cup Race, pretty good turn out. We always have a good time at Sacramento Raceway Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
overheard one of the full time workers at track say that they have a full schedule of racing for 2021 - of course that depends on getting permits for operating - has been long term possibility of being shut down as area neighboring area develops
Thanks JJ, don't know how I missed those two races, I'm just down the road from Sacto, Damn. I guess with most stuff cancelled this year I just stopped looking......
