Ive debated listing this but here it is as I think I’m ready to do something different. This is my daily driver. I’ve put 16K miles on her the last two years. It’s titled as a 65 Chevy 1/2 ton SWB 4x4 but it’s a bit of a Frankenstein. Body: the cab and front sheet metal are from a C30 grain truck and have 61K miles on them. The paint is mostly original with lots of patina. The doors, cab corners, rockers, floor... are all very solid. The bed is a reproduction bed that is rattle can paint that comes close to the cab but doesn’t quite match. The wood in the bed is untreated lumber that will need to be replaced at some point but it works for now. It supports plenty of weight. Chassis/Suspension: the frame and all of the suspension is a 1978 Chevy 1/2 ton short bed 4x4. Power steering, power brakes (discs up front). If you know both era of trucks you know the 78 has a longer wheel base and the rear frame sweeps up 3” higher on the 78. To fix this the previous owner moved the cab back and used a rear to front progressive body lift to even things out. Doing so left a couple inches of the front frame to stick out so my 16 year old nephew practiced his welding skills and built a custom front bumper for me. It’s heavy but bullet proof! Interior: it’s stock and original. Everything works but the factory in dash tach. It does have the 2 speed wiper motor with washer fluid. The original washer fluid button doesn’t work and I wired a separate switch for that. The heater will run you out of the truck on the coldest Nebraska day! It has a lokar floor shifter and custom gear shift for the transfer case. Drivetrain: a 290 horse GM crate 350 pulls it along and is backed by a 350TH tranny. NP205 transfer case. All 3 run and work great. Unknown miles on them. An Edelbrock electric choke carb sits on top. New in the past 2 years, oldest to most recent: Edelbrock carb, Cooper Discover SST Max 31x10.5x15 mud tires, power steering pump, hoses and gear box, drag link, front calipers, shocks and steering stabilizer, Warn lockouts, upper and lower ball joints, the u joints at the ends of the front differential, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Wiper arms and blades converted to late 80’s Jeep Cherokee rears so you get good wiper blades at any store. New LED fog lights (installed today). I’m sure I’ve forgotten some small stuff. If you are looking for a show stopper that is a smooth ride and gets good fuel economy then this isn’t the truck for you. If you want a dependable, bad a$$, tough looking 4 wheeler that rattles your teeth on a bumpy road and makes your girls chest jiggle keep reading. The truck drives really well and cruises 65-70 with no issues. Every time you get gas (which is often) people want to ask about it. I drive 70 miles a day to work in it and have taken her back home hunting several times (500 mile round trip). Hey d be comfortable driving her anywhere!! Best way to contact is by email or phone (before 9pm central time please). [email protected] or 402-694-9005. Ask for Grant. I’m not looking to do any trades right now. I’m happy to answer any questions or take pictures of whatever you want to see. I’m about 30 miles south of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Found something I’m interested in, make me an offer. I’ll throw in a new, painted white 64-66 grille that I’ve got for it. BTTT. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
