Came back to my wife’s aunts farm today on the eastern side of South Dakota. I was rummaging around in an old barn and came across this kool old recap whitewall drag slick. It’s going to come home with me and get cleaned up and hung on the wall.
50 years ago I kept a pair of those in the trunk, mounted and ready to go. Only took about 5 minutes or so to change back tires and uncap the headers and he ready to race. I bet half of the folks on here my age can say the same thing.
Had a set of their street tires on my '64 Impala, you know the ones with the crossed flags in the tread pattern!
Those old farm buildings can hold some treasure. I found a complete set of Plymouth Artillery wheels in my grandpas grainery near Emery many years ago. The building was on an abandoned farm site that came with a quarter of land he bought.
That’s the funny part no one in this family had old cars or know anything about old cars. I have know idea why this was out there on the farm.
Lol, I bet either someone left it way back when, or for a buck bought it because it would fit something they had on the farm. Now ya need to mount it on a rustic -not patina thing-wheel before you hang it..like a well worn black wheel, etc.
