I have tried to buy stromberg but every one wants to much for a core that needs a ton of work Cost to much to get them rebuilt to get them to run right
I bought mine from Clive at Stromberg in the UK. Three 97's and they have been without issue. Not cheap but worth the price of admission. https://www.stromberg-97.com/
Pay attention to the title of the ad. Osias is the brand. Not a Stromberg, not a Speedway 9-Super-7. A Chinese copy of a Stromberg. Parts interchangeability? Doubt it. Functionality? They may work kinda, but then so do 9-Super-7's, but not like a real one. New real ones are still made, but accuracy and quality costs. If rough enough is good enough, roll the dice with the cheap one.
A rebuilt original is less expensive in the long run than a questionable copy. Try Mad Max Musgrove in Salt Lake , Utah. He is the best as far as rebuilt Stromberg 97's, plus it is an original Stromberg carburetor. Step up, or step back.
Holley 94 is refined next to the Stromberg,it uses engine signal to control its enrichment circuit. The trick is to find a good early power valve, a lot of what's out there is ill fitting junk..Cheap at the swap meet, efficient in operation, you just have to get over the 'look' factor..no 'big logo 97' bragging ..just better power and economy.
