An old Checker taxicabs final resting place:

 

The really old Checkers are really rare no mater what the condition.

 

Did they make their own bodies or did one of the other big companies handle it for them?

 

They built their own bodies but went to other companies for engines.

 

Nice car. Sad to see it in the weeds and not at a drag strip. Hopefully it will get built again soon.

I'd be working at getting that bread truck if I were closer. Oh yeah, I can see a killer project with that. I've done five different projects with these AD trucks and panels over the years...haven't done a big block powered jimmy bread truck though

 

Looks like it's a wood shed now.

 

This is an export-only Plymouth based Desoto and that grille bar is highly prized, will bolt into a 53/54 Plymouth or could be used on a custom. Shocked to see the rest of the car so picked clean and yet that grille remains! Around here, that would be the first thing gone. Really neat collection of pictures here.

What is the 60's car with the split grilles above? Never saw that model before.

 

Split grilles car is a British Ford Mk3 Zephyr -

 

This car looks sad, like it's sitting there and saying "I can't believe you treated me this way"....Honestly, seems like that car has a soul.
