Have a 1961 Chrysler Newport 2 door hardtop that im going to make a poor boy 300 clone out of. Have two parts cars...a 1962 Chrysler Newport 4 door hardtop and a 1962 Chrysler Newport 2 door hardtop. Pretty sure the 1962 2 door is the same glass...specifically the windshields front and rear...but not sure about the 4 door hardtop. I think some GM 4 door hardtop front and rear glass is the same as 2 door....but not sure on Mopar. Here is a pic of my project '61 and the parts car '62. Anybody with a Hollander out there to clear this up? Thanks in advance..
You could measure it since you have both cars. Some Chrysler 2 door hardtops offered an optional, extra large rear window but the difference is obvious if you have them side by side.
My Hollander says the front is the same but rear isn't. 2 door and 4 door hardtop rear glass shows no interchange.
Unusual that all the body styles except the convertible share the same windshield for 1961 and 1962. Thanks for the scan! My 61 was missing the front windshield trim..which is part of the reason why I bought the 62 2 door...and to get other 2 door hardtop bits. It seems like all the front window trim should be the same across all models except convertible.
The 62 2 door is without an engine or trans....floors and trunk floor are rusted out completely. Car is from WA and must have been getting water inside it for years. Its perfect for what I need it for though...
