I took this at Bob's Big Boy Burbank a couple of years ago. Love this car, perfect set up. 2018-09-07_18-38-18_147.jpeg

You Know after seeing a black n white photo of the 60’s version of the McMullen roadster, and all it’s versions over the years... I think “it” defines Hotrod! When I open the encyclopedia and see it!
    Hard to beat????

A photo that some people liked, showcasing So Cal hot rodding in 1959.

    Hello,

It was a cool morning in Riverside, CA. during December, 1959. It was supposed to get hot later in the day, during this winter season, but those open spaces gave everyone chills until 9-10 am. One of the first photos I took on the day was this Hemi powered, Candy Apple, Red roadster, in the pits. It stood out from a long way down the pits. It was a must see and record moment. Who’s roadster was this?

The big event for us teenagers was the noted: “East vs West” drag meet. The top racers in the Midwest and East vs. the top racers in Southwest, Northwest, and California.

It is and has been one of my favorite “Hot Rod” photos. This was So Cal at its finest…in 1959. As t -shirt/Levi wearing teenagers, we were tough in the cool early morning. No jackets for us… The sun was just starting to get slightly warm. But, after the day was over, jackets were the clothing of choice, all the way home.

Plus, it is Candy Apple Red to go along with the December Holiday spirit and memories of times long ago.

Well your Welcome Stogy .... it is a wild and creative Hot Rod Racer which has always been my favorites in the Hot Rod World. Just the way I build my own.

You could park either one in my driveway and I'd be a happy camper but I'm leaning a little more toward the Crusader. Last of the Gunfighters.

Isn't that the smaller Navy A-7 Corsair version of the F-8 Crusader?

You're right. I was only looking at the wing. A-7 was a smaller sub-sonic version of the F-8. I'd park either one in my driveway.
