    A 1931 A coupe I purchased in November, 1974.
I only got a tad serious with it 3 years or so ago.
    Boxed A chassis with a "Shakey Rails" X member. 283 & TH350, 9" rear.

Engine is a trusty/crusty 1965 Impala 283ci. Reground crank, std bore with 006-.008 bore wear, orginal pistons with new rings, bearings etc etc, 300hp Chevy cam & not much else. Trans got a rebuild & shift kit. Diff is a 9" with 2.88 gears. Cruiser.

If you started back in '74, what happened when it was hatched in '67?

In 1967 I left school and started work and about that time I decided that I really wanted a Model A coupe. I finally purchased the coupe body in 1974. Through the years the parts were purchased & the interior bracing done along with panel work along with putting it together a number of times. It has had an orginal 32 chassis under it and then 2 aftermarket versions along with a 94 TPI Vette engine but a couple of acquaintances of mine kept bitching and moaning about me building "just another bloody Kiwi built hot rod with no theme and NOT being period correct" (kind of). This is when the "Hatched in 1967" dream started good and proper. I unloaded the 32 junk (all nice stuff) bit the bullet and the A chassis was reunited with a 283ci/th350 and the build stepped up a notch to where it is now.
I have had a fair bunch of hotrods etc thru the years so stepping back in time kinda suits me at the minute.
I alway's figured it was going to be my "retirement project" so there was never a hurry to start it until 3 or so years ago when my daughter decided I well n truly qualified as "an old person" and that was when I got right into it. In between working etc etc.
