The first photo shows Parnelli Jones leading Don Branson at Milwaukee in 1960. They used to have stock car, midget, and sprint car racing during the state fair leading up to the Indianapolis car race. Twin 50 laps races were held. Parnelli won one 50 lap feature and Branson won the other one. The other photo is of Don Davis with his crew at Indy in 1961. Davis ended up crashing on the main straight when something locked up his rear wheels which started a pileup that saw driver Jack Turner flip his car. Notice the Rupp Dart-Kart sponsorship. Mickey Rupp was interested in all kinds of racing in addition to his famous karts. And he drove in the 1965 Indianapolis 500 himself finishing in a credible 6th place. Rupp also flew a P-51 Mustang in the National Air Races a few times when he was over sixty years old.

Ford Cardinal, which was going to be domestic, ended up being built in Europe. Maybe someone here knows more about it.
OK- I'll put the popularity of the Corvair into perspective for you.... 1.8 million Corvairs were built from 1960 to '69 . They have been building CORVETTE'S since 1953 , but THEY HAVE NOT BUILT THAT MANY CORVETTE"S YET !!!
Hey Rocket88NZ The beautiful woman is Elizabeth Taylor. This is her on an ordinary day! Just plain HOT! You can tell because the '58 Caddy's white walls are dirty!
Pretty sure this the same Doug Roe the entered the Bonneville 200 mph Club in 1978 at a speed of 203... I was there in 78 and it might have been in a OT Chevrolet Monza... no not the Corvair.
