The class we ran in required a stock body with no aero aids. I look at the cars running now and wish we would have been able to run the front air dam, and rear spoilers they run today.

Slightly off topic -
Ak Miller also said that about going fast at Bonneville.
Way back, he drove a 69 Mustang that belonged to Chaffey College (SoCal) that had weight lifting weights bolted all over that car. From mid car to the rear axle centerline.

While working at Ford Body Engineering in Dearborn I learned the Pinto had a better Cd in the wind tunnel going backwards. I suspect there are many cars that are slipperier going backwards, largely due to the mandatory size and placement of the headlights.

 

I always was draw to the 352 car since it was on the same poster as my truck.
