Whaaat? I think the humidity is getting to your head haha. A short wheelbase, high up back with a wicked rubber rake and an engine sporting multiple carbs can only look one way - fast. Added bonus to a wicked rake is you're always traveling downhill so naturally you're going faster! 12919646_10209032538721579_7381551308372129627_n by Old-Soul posted Apr 12, 2016 at 1:34 PM
Alot of it is perception and perspective, right? I grew up around race cars... So, I was taught from a very young age that fast is long and low... not high and wide... Don't get me wrong, that T is cool as shit... But it doesn't look fast to me. This, on the other hand, looks fast:
This photo jumped out and talked me into saving it....... so I got the ladder out and cut some wires. View attachment 4798556
My favorite T, Eric Anderson's. Also Bass Kustom's is right there too. A few drawings I did last year to scratch the itch.
Wow, Ryan posting about a 70s style T Bucket, pretty surprising. But I think that's the effect of seeing a hot rod in the wild. You forget about any preconceptions and judge the car on it's merits. These cars are usually bashed because they're done poorly so often. I'm currently trying to build a T without screwing it up too badly, but also for a cheap as possible. The key in my opinion is to keep the wheelbase short and the space between the grill, motor and firewall as tight as possible. That and stance. Do that and it's hard to miss the mark. I've hesitated to start a build thread because it seems slightly off topic for the forum. Here's 400 pages more on the topic of doing T buckets right.
