Sonny La Roc’s pearl of shangri-la from the Robert Williams poster Devil with a hammer and hell with a torch
I've got two. Steve Stanford And the bubble top Merc in the bottom right of this Jeff Allison design study.
I found this drawing I did, probably around '83-'84 based on the other crap it was with, in a old box of stuff... that would mean I was in 10th grade... Probably a day dream doodle during an English class or something... Anyway, even though these have been done to death I can still see the details I was thinking about at the time. SBC or maybe a nailhead with Hilborn injection, bullet taillights, nurf bar bumper, wide tuck and roll, big-n-littles, whitetwalls and caps, trick exhaust with cutouts, z'd frame... Not sure if this falls in the "deserving" category, but I would still like to build it one day maybe...even if it is just to satisfy a childhood dream. Chappy
a while back it might have been R&C that did some doodles of a late 60s ford truck cut down to t bucket proportions. I came pretty close to buying on to chop up for that purpose
When I read this one, I IMMEDIATELY had a rendering pop into my head. I thought it was a Steve Stanford design, so I went spelunking through his fb page. I didn't find IT, but I found ALL THESE!! Get to metal-shaping, guys. I know there's more than ONE, but... I'm gonna dig through my archives when I get home and find that Ford...
This version of the orange/gold truck Weesner has drawn a bunch of times... And also this killer Mopar concept car Jimmy Smith did...
I've done a few in 1/25th scale. '40 Ford 3-window coupe. '49 Ford 400. '55 Chevy Nomad Woody. I think Steve Stanford drew them all.
Jeez, if my '60s R&C collection wasn't buried so deep, there's tons of inspiration in their various 'Sketchpad' series from Tom Daniels and Don Emmons...
