Looking good, great progress and looks like a solid body! Looked kind a high when you first got it, gasser wannabe or what? What are your plans for it!? / primerkid
Yeah, it was sitting really high! I threw a ford 9" under it just to roll it out/ tow it. Was Easyer to put it under the springs that over, so it was jacked up lookin. I'm gonna do it ass dragging led sled style. Something fun to cruse with the family Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

Almost identical to my 51 Bus Coupe I gave to my nephew; who then used all my parts, help, and some money to put it all together. .030 over 350 with a mild hydraulic cam, One of my built aluminum Powerglides with a 2800 RPM stall converter, and 4.88 Positraction, 56 rear end. We blocked the front suspension up 2 inches, used coil wrapped overload shocks on the rear, big and little Cragar S/S wheels/tires. It sits at a good height, but not extreme, and blocking the front end up does't change the ride. And like yours, the 51 needs paint and interior. Butch/56sedandelivery.
Wow! Been a while! I finally got my shit together and got this car on the road. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
This has got to be one of the shortest 6 year build threads on the hamb. lol Congrats - car looks great!
looking good. reminds me of a 50 buisness coupe i had 22 years ago. wish i had pics. was building a gasser before they became cool again. i swapped the body on a 52 chevy truck frame. moved the 1 inch wheelbase forward on the front. centered the back wheel. swapped in a 350 th350 camaro reasrend. body matched up pretty well. just 6 inch spacers in the trunk area to mount body. lol used the truck steering column. no cutting of frame. put the rearend on top of springs to lower rear. better weight transfer. lotsa of fun. friends thought i lost my mind. oh my was black also.
Hey it looks good when I first saw it I thought it was the chev I see in Saunders Parking lot in Phoenixville PA Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Project update, I blew up the small block that I put in originally, on Father’s Day this year so the car has been sitting again. Slowly I’m getting another SBC ready to go but it’s motorcycle and fishing season so still not done yet. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
You know a car has had some serious hours of repair done on it throughout its life when there’s leg marks worn into the paint! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Been having fun driving the Chevy, figures it’s time to start on some paint and body work. So I moved the bikes around enough to shoehorn it in the motorcycle garage for a makeshift booth Fixed a bunch of dents that I dents I didn’t know were there and started taping it off. Just gonna paint the roof for now. Blue flake over black. In primer , gonna get back at it in the morning. Wish me luck! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Love the 49-52 Chevrolet Coupes; should have kept my 51 Chevrolet Business Coupe, "Street Gasser". With any luck, one will come my way again some day. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
