Ya , who knows what happened to that helmet . I have some old nomex gloves and socks and shoes but that's it . Most of that stuff disappeared when I was just a kid . It would be cool to have it all .

See folks, this is one of the things that makes this place so great.

It took me over 1 hour to just look at the old cards and clippings.

    Thanks

The scrap book is really cool. I've yet to meet Sr. but I have the pleasure of working with Larry Petit Jr. A real nice guy and one hell of a machinist. We frequently shoot the bull about building a tribute of the Vespa competion coupe.

Maybe one of you guys closer to Sr. can tip him off about the Geezer Gathering.

  12. Gonna go out on a limb here and say this guy has paid his dues.
    Hats off to the man.
As to the red light thing, it is a well known fact that the lights were slower back then.

Whitey Ford, I know your father-in-law well! Also know Eric and your wife! I remember them when they were young. You sure are lucky Larry gave you those pics! Your father-in-law is a great guy! Larry told me a bunch of old drag racing stories over the years. I remember when he used to sell cars. Mark

sorry its been awhile but just checked out my own thread and seen this. Thats funny you know eric and my wife. We are in Mississippi right now but since the Ohio winter is hitting im sure Mr. Larry will be visiting us soon.

Yeah he did sell cars for a long time as well. Funny stories of that too. Damn dude is still sharp as a tack.

Been a while but I just got back on here. A thread on another site got me thinking about this. I see we lost a bunch of pics from pb. I’ll have to see if we can fix it. My dad, Larry, is now 83 years old and still sharp as a tack. I’m looking for someone to help me set up an interview and recording session with my dad. While he is still pretty healthy the last few years have been a little harder on him. Shoot me a p.m. if you can help me to make this happen. I don’t get on the internet much but will keep checking.
