Yesterday was the Meekins anniversary. My goal was to have it running but didnt get that far. They hadn't seen the car other than just the bare body on the frame since paint. I got it as far as i could and loaded it up to crash their anniversary dinner.
We suprised them at the restaurant. Had the car waiting for them in the adjacent parking lot.
Well worth the effort to get it there 20200826_190441.jpg

Billy is a knife maker...retirement job. So he made a raindrop damascus gauge insert. Ans Sandi wanted a glovebox...so I gave her two. Ignore the wiring its not done yet and fell down during hauling it. 20200827_081830.jpg

Here's the Y block. Straight out of a 57 thunderbird that got a late model motor. Yes it has AC. 20200827_081856.jpg

Great save Clark, looks like the car is right out of 1957. Congratulations to the couple. Bob

Amazing work! That color really stands out! I like it!

Where did the roof insert come from? Did you cut it from a donor car?

I had a 57 Ford wagon roof laying around. We ran it through the bead roller and put a step in where the original cloth top would be. Now I'm going to hammer out an aluminum sheet and cover it. It will sit down in recessed area

That is amazing - Clark, you are a true craftsman. The owners must be thrilled with the results. I personally love the color AND the Moons!
Oh, and this may seem minor but I can't say that I have ever seen (or maybe just never noticed) an AC compressor hidden UNDER an alternator - I think that is a great way to camouflage it...

  29. Wow, amazing! Am I correct in assuming that the top is chopped but the rear window is stock height?

Lot of the little things are done now. Wont be much longer it will be done. Headed for interior in a coupke weeks

Yes the car is chopped 3 1/2 inches and the bottom of the back window dropped down an inch or so.
