Sewed up the diamond pattern for the center section of the first seat cover tonight. I have a new appreciation for all you upholsterers out there... IMG_20200820_234042231.jpg

I get the same with the C10 all the time. Even on the highway I get Tesla's slowing down next to me to give a thumb's up. Old panel trucks are pretty rare here in the Netherlands and government is stimulating electrical drive (from my tax euro's) but I don't get the enthusiasm of these guys. I just smile and wave, smile and wave...

Lately all of the work has concentrated on my OT DeVille daily, but I'm happy with that progress.

Bought a dinner plate for a buck at the dollar store and stuck it in my 5 spoke mag. Hmm.

Welded the floor together, for a friend's "shortened" Jeep wagon project. I hadn't wire welded sheet metal, for some time. IMG_5337.JPG IMG_5340.JPG

In the process of breaking down and cleaning a bunch of Ford, Lincoln and Merc Overdrive transmissions to see what parts I have to build... So unsexy gooey messes of various degrees in various containers around the shop.

  10. Big storm, rain and high winds reeked havoc here last night, fortunately Brenda's magnum wagon was parked in the back yard and not parked in front of the garage, we lost some limbs in the driveway.

So we spent the day cleaning up the mess, the closed door is where Brenda normally parks.

Pulled all the innerds out of a 47 Ford side shift tranny and moved them into my 39 top loader. Wish me luck that it all works as advertised. It looks like it should....

Today was Ford small block day... although I'm a dyed in the wool Chevy guy but a Ford trained tech. o_O Ran two different SBFs that I built on the run stand. One flat tappet fairly mild one and the 2nd was a roller cammed version. Both fired up right away and I ran the flat tappet one through break in , no problems. The roller cam fired right up and sounded great. Good day in my book:D Now back to the 406 for my Vette.

Today I had to say goodbye to a very good friend, just one year older than me, at 51.

His cancer came in fast, and hard. He went out slowly, and painfully.

This is going to hurt, for a very long time.

Sorry for your loss. Losing someone close to you hurts real bad but you will pull through. Lean on your family and friends as they will lean on you when needed. Take care.

The welding of the floor joint, was my only task on this one, so I can't help with progress pics.

  24. Finished resurrecting the last garnish for Mike's '33; poor things were full of rot and pinholes. Besides welding in several larger sections; probably brazed up (yeah, I know) fifty some holes between the four window garnish. Odd that the rear window molding was pretty minty; hard to believe it came off the same car.

  29. We got it late today. I was lucky, the worst wind was just North and South of us. We got mostly rain. Glad you guys are OK. Also that no 32's or wagons were affected.
