Pat Flaherty is also in the photo with his arm still in a sling as a result of his Springfield crash a year earlier.

    Great photo!

Wanted to know a little more about the Ferrari sign.
Luigi Chinetti apprenticed in his father's workshop where he earned a lathe operator's certificate at age 12 then qualified as a mechanic at age 14. In 1917, at age 16, he went to work for Alfa Romeo as a mechanic, where he met another young hire named Enzo Ferrari.

For many years he was the exclusive American importer of Ferrari automobiles to the United States Chinetti applied for American citizenship in 1947, and took the oath of allegiance on 6 March 1950. His naturalization was sponsored by Zora Arkus-Duntov.

  4. Luigi had one heck of a "resume" and even better personal references! Just amazing. Thanks for info

Luigi Chinetti had another Ferrari dealership for many years in Greenwich, Ct. near the Connecticut and New York
State line on the old Boston Post Road.
There was always a semi-trailer truck parked next to his building that said in big letters N.A.R.T. on its sides for North American Racing Team. I used to always see many of the Ferrari parked in front of the building.

Is that a small gas engine mounted on the front bumper? The car looks like the Charger in Bullet.

No mirrors or antenna in this ad.. Fender V8 indicates a 272 which would be extremely rare in a Fairlane Victoria. Of course it could be an early rendition or before the company made the Thunderbird V8 emblem part as it was used as a fender emblem on the 55.
