Here's a mite car for John. My McCoy .19 powered Martin Flash, again lettered by Bruno Perry. I really like the looks of this car, one of my favorites. Mick
Very nice! Later style Martin Flash body with 2-piece die-cast aluminum Hornet Mite wheels and C-R tires.
Here’s one of my mite cars using an Martin Flash pan. McCoy 19 power through a bevel drive. Hand-made brass ‘wedge’ fuel tank with shut off valve. Solid rubber rests and knife edge fronts. I formed the top in two halves and welded it down the middle! The idea was to wrap around the cylinder head nice and tight. This little racer even has a leather seat I fabricated this race car some time ago and added it to my growing Mite collection. Pretty sure John has seen this one before but I thought it would be fun to add to this thread. Enjoy! Duncan Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
When the Martin Flash was first introduced, you could order the car from Tony Martin with either the traditional bridle brackets (like this car) or a pan handle, which was just beginning to become popular. And it is not uncommon to find Martin Flash cars which have been converted from bridle brackets to pan handles.
new tether car guy needs pan handle and tail skid for real mccoy any help would appreciated thanks elmo
A couple of our latest projects. The cabin is running a McCoy 60 and the Rexner is running a Dennymite.........
Could be, but looks closer to Pocher 8c2300 Muletto. It's a great model by a top model model maker. Mick
Thought I'd resurrect this thread with some pics of the McCoy Invader I just finished. It's powered by a Hornet .60 Engine and again lettered by Bruno Perry. Still need to install battery holder and an ignition kill switch. Mick
Can anyone help me identify this little tether car. I know it's not in the same league as these. Thanks Ron..... Sent from my SM-G920P using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Ron, your car is a "Half Pint" made by Scientific Model Aircraft co. Newark N.J. Late 50's to mid 60's I believe. The early one's were made out of a pressed wood substance, called Scientific Wood". Mick
My wife has Alzheimer's and the help is eating me up, so in the next few weeks I will be posting a dooling F car, a big nut rodzy and a couple more. None are restored. The f car has a cyclone .60 in it.
Just to keep this thread going, here's another McCoy Invader I did to kinda match the red one I posted earlier. Mick
