Its a Harley "Knucklehead" engine (1936 - 1947) The view shows the heads with the rocker boxes removed. They are using it in a car application, not sure how well an air cooled engine liked being enclosed in the car body, but VW seemed to get away with it.
I gotta hand it to ya @loudbang, that Roberts Oldsmobile sign still exists here in Auburn Washington. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
A friend of mine (Dr) stayed at a house he built over on the California coast over looking the ocean. The problem was he didn’t have one window looking at the ocean. The focal point was suppose to be the house. A few yrs back someone with lots of money who didn’t know/didn’t care bulldozed it and build a modern mansion. Oh well. This car is somebody's avatar on here. Sorry I can't tell you who, but this car always floats my boat! It's so early and so BAD ASS! I would love to have a car like this! NOW!
