@greaser 35 .....can you post a better pic (close up) of the center emblem! That will help in a positive ID. Ray
I'm just looking for a pair of this hubcaps !I don't have another pic of this car & kool hubcaps !I just want to know what the hubcaps are so I can buy them for my Ford!
Obviously greaser35 cares, that’s what the post was about, so he could purchase some like or similar to the ones pictured Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Look for '49 to '51 Caddy hubcaps. Referred to as "Sombrero" hubcaps...looks like they go for $100 ea. and on up.
The early 50's Pontiac caps while looking pretty good don't lend themselves to being put on anything but the wheels they were designed for very easy. I snagged three of these out of of a rust bucket 51 Pontiac my buddy was cutting up and they are great wall decoration and little else without a lot of work.
A good friend of mine has a set of these on his ‘38 Buick. Added a small bullet in the center. Buick caps mount in a similar fashion, but the depth is different. I ended up making a set of adapter rings, formed over a wood hammer form buck, that did the trick. Been a few years ago now and the details escape me. A fair amount of work, but he is a good friend and it was important to him. oops! my halo just slipped a bit! Ray
Ive got a set of those 50 Poncho covers too. I pretty much cut one all to shit hoping I could make it work..No luck. Hnstray and 48Chevy are right, its a fair amount of work to fit those on stock wheels. I'll get back around to that project someday.. I found the same to be true with the Caddy "Sombrero" Covers
