Came home after work and even though its 97 degrees on the patio I finished fitting the T bolt hood bump to the hacked 59 Vette hood, Looks totally bitchin:D

  6. Trans cooler lines done...No idea why NPD would sell em without a double flare, the fittings my neighbor made worked awesome..this was so easy and took care of the leaks.. F1567F80-E7B3-44B2-8854-AB99D44701D8.jpeg

Bolted intake (283 SBC) and realized that kick down cable bracket (Turbo 350) is a 4 barrel type. So a replacement 2 barrel type is on it's way.

Finally got out the new sewing machine and my red metalflake vinyl. Gotta get in some practice before tackling the interior in the 55' Stude. Maybe I will finally remember to get some photos to put up. IMG_20200813_104439119.jpg IMG_20200812_174454040.jpg Diamond pattern was a lot of work. Between attaching batting and a layer of cloth, then the layout and sewing, it ate up some time. Nice to be able to work on something on the car and not be out in 100 degree heat.

Found out why this monster was stumbling when I would nail it, the cheap Chinese shift light was causing the distributor to brake up. On a whim I pulled the wire from the distributor, took it for a ride to my favorite spot and she jumped up and took off like a big block should..

Nobody in town had any. But I can order some online for my next project. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take all I can get. First time doing this.

  18. Pretty much finished the welding on the floors, a couple of tacke on the under floor bracing and a coat of H/F bedliner and lift the body off the frame one more time to tighten up some chassis parts. Then on to the next task.

Decided to install the “50-60’s retro tach I’d bought a few years ago. I didn’t want to screw up the column turn signal wire cover and was able to do it. No reason, just wanted to do it, and yes at idle the generator light is either on or flickering. F37976CE-EA8D-45DC-9D01-FFB4D54CFD93.jpeg

IMG_20200818_113034627_HDR.jpg also picked up the cam kit i ordered from the local napa store. Box says "made in USA". Open that up and the solid lifter boxes inside say "made in China"!

Bored out and drilled this smaller and lighter pulley for a 4 bolt harmonic damper going on a 467 inch F.E.

  24. Cut the rusted out spare tire well out of the 56 wagon, It had been kind of hacked with pop rivitd, sheet metal amd fiberglass over rust. Going to cover the cargo area with some diamond plate aluminum and convert the back seat area into more cargo space, when I'm done the car will only have seating for two.

  25. I decided I needed to get lunch at the local drive-in today. I'm sitting there enjoying the delicious food when a car pulls in and the driver gives me a thumbs up. Normally not anything to comment about, but...….

This person was driving a Hybird car. So it got me to thinking, why would a tree hugger go to a drive-in? Why would they give a thumbs up to a dinosaur burning 57 Chevy? I mean there is nothing wrong with either life style, it just seems odd to me somehow.

Bid and won this rear end assembly on a local online auction. Pics didn’t show much, all wide angle. Imagine my surprise when I rolled in to pick it up
