Projects Homemade Model A ???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by swade41, Aug 16, 2020.

  1. Seen this for sale, listed and titled as a 31 Ford but kinda looks like a Vicky or something with that slanted A pillar, hell it even resembles a Willys on the back section.
Is this a weird factory model A or a gas ration truck ?

The shape and "under curve" of the rear of the cab reminds me of a sedan body. Other than that observation I have nothing to offer.

    Did you buy it??

  3. I'd say it was shortened up out of a sedan.

I'm going to say that it started out as a 3031 Slant post sedan. 1931-ford-model-a-4-door-sedan-slant-window-rust-free-hot-rod-banger-1.jpg

A bit of clean up and scab removal and that would be a sweet looking rig.

Yeah, I saw that listed and wondered about its history. Sure looks odd without a visor.

Certainly like it, what ever it started out as. Has that just a little bit different look.

Id love to drive that around. Tell everyone the Briggs or Murray factory built it for use around the factory.

  10. You'd need a very tiny butt...that seat is real short.

Yes, that pickup was made from a late 1931 Fordor, first all steel Fordor. Briggs built mine, Murray and Ford also built them. Bob[IMG]

  12. Looks not bad, I would like to see how they did around the back of the cab.

  17. You got that right, I most likely would've bought this driver Henry J, I've got enough projects and this one said drive anywhere and was only an hour and a half away. But I really don't have room for anything more.
