Thank you. Fabbed up a hood top. Gonna add a couple rows of louvers soon (hopefully).

Gotta say the metal work and detail in floors and firewall etc. it would be a shame to cover it.

Ready for headers and exhaust (by Mike Barillaro). Then back to me to finish.

Long way to go. About halfway through the paint and body. Here’s some shots of it in white epoxy. I plan to paint it Chrysler polar white (or something close).

I have some experience with this. Great motor with great power. However...if you plan to put a power adder on (blower, nitrous, etc) please be careful. The piston rings are gapped real tight and will pop the top of the piston if you start pushing more power.

I have seen several 392s where the person threw a procharger on or a whipple and had catastrophic engine failure. Granted the tune is also very important here but you should definitely not run more than 5 psi in the stock bottom end.

My friend is a mopar guy and has built several of these motors for boost, spray, and meth and all have forged pistons and rods with the gaps on the rings gapped accordingly. The motors take a beating and ask for more.

I have no plans for a power adder.

    Great build and excellent craftsmanship....
One question, is the radiator shroud tapered, larger at top than bottom due to grill shell angle ?
    Thanks Jay

    Thanks.

It’s tapered to match the angle of the fan (engine).

This is likely a dumb question. What kind of air filter do you run in those scoops? I’ve seen them on several cars on here, but never with a photo close enough to see any details.

No filter. Just screen. enough to keep birds and stones out

I’ve been toying with the idea of putting some prefilter foam between two layers of screen.
