This is the windshield frame I got with my Tudor body.

It seems way too narrow. There’s about a 1/2” gap down the pillars.

Help me out deuce guys. What is the deal?

The only thing I can think is it’s for a 3 window?

  2. My guess is your right.Since it has to be chopped can you widen,or narrow where you need it,and make a frame?

It may not be a Ford part...Could be from an early Mopar....They were close to Ford bodies...

That is the proper windshield frame.

You need to look at an assembled 32 to see how the rubber gasket takes up the space. You'll need one eventually, so might as well buy a nice gasket from Dennis Carpenter and snap it into the frame on the sides to see how they fit.

Then again, maybe the body was welded together a bit wide?

The sketch shows measurements on a stock ‘32 Fordor bare body where the gasket would seat.
A Trautwein repro frame measures 43” at the bottom corners, 44” at the top where the radiused corners just start and 12 1/4” high at the center.

I could but I didn't want to cut it up if somebody else could use it like it is.

    I thought about this too.

Ok, I did look at some online and it seemed the gap was too wide. But maybe I'm justing looking at it wrong.

I thought this at first too. I don't think it could be off at the bottom or top corners. Neither one was pulled or stretched when I welded everything back together.

Great, thanks for the measurements. I'll check it out tonight.

Looks like the opening for the windshield on the body has been altered -bottom 2/3.

I figured it out. I didn’t realize the frame is supposed to fit completely inside the reveal. I was comparing it to my 34 truck which fits on the outside of the pillars.

I guess it helps when you actually start from stock and take everything apart.

    Thanks again
