This movie has everything, customs, hot rods, beaters, street scenes, rail jobs, east coast, high boys, low boys, explosions, chicks, kids and dogs ....It's the real deal.

  3. Outstanding, I was just wondering how many of those young men and women are still with us and if we will ever get back to a more normal life these days.

Great video. I Remember my brother would return home every Sunday from the drags in his 57 with the hub caps off and mom would chew his ass.
    Thanks

@Ryan , this is the video I sent you a little while ago. Someone got it off face book and on to youtube

I grew up in Birmingham in the 50's and early 60's. Lassiter Mountain was the place to go and race.

  9. Those Alabama lads had it going on back in the late 50's. Some very interesting cars in that video.

Funny you should mention that Don. Take a peak on the next view of the clothes the kids were wearing. You might see a few pairs of jeans but for the most part, southern guys wore dress pants just about any where. In my high school days, wearing jeans was a sure sign of being dirt poor..........go figure. Most of the girls wore dresses.....everywhere. Some wore pedal pushers but very few. I remember a few of the customs in the video. The black 51 chevy custom was a local guy in east Birmingham. The video was almost like a trip back home

Man, that was cool! 2 or 3 times during the races, a third car would follow the racers down the track. Was that a push car to get one of them back on the return road?

    I noticed that too.
My thought was assistance whether a mechanical break down or a more serious emergency.

Thank You for posting this. A perfect video to capture the time frame, the music was spot on, and an era that many of us would like to go back to.
