58 ChevyBiscayne tail lights. You can turn them a quarter turn for a narrower space. You can also change the lenses. There are different years that fit. 8440FBA5-3ACE-4450-BF5C-E8C05DDA415F.jpeg

1958 Chevy tailights would look almost as bad as 1965-67 Mustang tail lights. They are too big for the car
and look like they were just "added on".
Pick a light that is subtle , not overwhelming and goes with the design of your truck.
Statr looking at old Rod'n Custom magazines.

"Dare to be different". But, don't be extreme like that long red light shown above.

The 49 Merc light is looking good. Now, in your mind picture how it would look
    with your bumper installed.

  6. One big issue is finding era-correct lights these days. Ford/Chevy lenses are plentiful in the aftermarket, but once you get into 'other' makes it rapidly becomes hit-or-miss. Finding usable bezels can turn into snipe hunts.

To be clear as to what the definition of " extreme tail light " is, this is extreme. Have to give the fabricator credit for being creative.

I was going for the rocket age look that went with the lines and matched the hub caps. These are a set of tail lights from a 60 Pontiac. The outside lights were damaged on both sides. I didn’t feel bad hacking the damaged parts off.

I don’t have a picture but someone I know put a set of 59 corvette tail lights on a 40 ford

I was going to run a set of Torque Thrust D’s but I decided I have so many sets of hub caps I will just play with the different looks. Like the truck .

Thank you! My caps were off a 61 Buick. She doesn’t look like that anymore. I got my original wheels hooped and will run original hub caps. Still under construction, eventually they will be white to match the roof.

Can’t go wrong with Torque Thrust D‘s though they look great on yours.

1965 impala lights are another place to look, they have an angled bezel if you wanted to put them upper to mid fender.

Great idea on the cat bowl. Ive gone down the cooking aisle before and found a lot of useful stainless and chrome stuff to cut up.

Harley Davidson on the sedan. Very little trimming.
'72 Dodge Dart on the coupe, upside down. Matched the angle of the rear panel very closely. Back-up lights even work.

Model As on my Bantam. Just because they were on it when I got it. I should make a lower panel and flush mount lights, but I'm on summer break. Maybe this winter.
