Had a bunch of Kustoms but this past weekend picked up my first hot rod, saw it and had to have it. Was built in Maryland in 60s and pretty much untouched since, supposedly Bernie Schmidt? Was helping build it I’d love to get more history about the shop and older pics of the car, see a lot of blue flake overspray luv to c it in that version. Was the owner passed and I got it from their estate and been sittings since the 80s and got it running within a few hours. Still needs a lot work before shes road worthy but hopefully get it out this year D179390E-B511-4B98-B3E5-6496D08EBD81.png E0EE95E9-EC21-46DF-9932-3606802DCD87.jpeg EC2A6BBF-8FBE-496C-813A-8C06A092F4FA.jpeg 71E6D87A-E7EA-4DF9-BB91-3BAF7B402A29.jpeg 9DC59CE8-AEB9-4EB3-A473-1E7404A4CC39.jpeg 21B26750-A482-4A6E-ABF1-A959F671E397.jpeg

I like it, it really has that look of the era, which a lot of newly-built cars aiming for a 60's look don't even come close to. Also appears to be very intact and should be a perfect specimen to preserve.

    That's a rad car.
Give it a good tune up, a cleaning and some proper rubber and enjoy!

Looks like a lot of it should come back to life without too much work. Lucky score!

When you posted survivor I have to admit I thought of something covered in dust and bird shit and rottening to the ground . I was happy to see something that actually is a survivor . Polish her up and make the late owner proud and cruise the hell out of it!

That is the real deal. A few hours of polishing and that one is going to shine pretty nice.

Now that’s a great score! A little clean up and good going over for safety and you’re on the road in style.

  26. .............That's very interesting. I'm going to have to post some of Fatty's pictures on our Maryland Hot Rod History thread on the Md. Social Forum and see if anyone remembers the car............Don.

  27. I just posted the pictures on the Md. Social Forum with the reference to Bernie Schmidt. Hopefully someone can shed some further light on the cars' history. Thanks for the heads-up 61cad.
