Hot Rods Dave's Newest build - this time a '52 Ford truck

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Aug 12, 2020.

  1. My pal & fellow Tri-City Rod & Custom member Dave has been working hard on his latest project for the last 2 year ground up build and it is ready to hit the road.

He still has the 32-34 confused pickup. HRP

That bed pic is a mind trip. The reflection makes it look like the left tire runs in a cover.

Dave did all the metal work. prepped for paint, sprayed the paint in his garage and does his own upholstery. HRP

Nice truck. With the looks of that suspension and front end setup, I’d bet it handles and rides like a sports car.
Reminds me of my 50 Chevy truck setup and I loved my setup.
    Dave’s a busy guy.

  14. Rick, Dave bought the stalled project from a friend in Kentucky, the frame was mocked up but everything was tacked in place. HRP

    Nice job. Well done interior.
    I'm partial to '51-'52 F1's.
Just look so much better than F100 trucks.
I use a '87-'94 Dakota seat or cut down the original. The original springs can be bouncy though.
    We've done a few. 20180305_173506.jpg 20171103_112814.jpg 20190329_105201.jpg 20200501_143252.jpg 20170719_083041.jpg IMG_20151012_095918934_HDR.jpg

The hood spears and front of hood emblems are 51, in any case a cool truck.

^^Love the one on the bottom there Aerocolor. Paint color, side rails and patina just like the one they had on the farm I worked on as a kid and that was over 50 years ago.
    Thanks for the memories!

  20. Wowsa!,...nice truck,...bout the only thing I'd do if it were mine is raise the rear up about 2"
or drop the front about 2"...for a hot rod rake,..just my opinion,...nice to see the F-1's getting their attention.
    ...love my F-1...

798FF1FA-A716-4C97-9B2B-3061AB6B0DFB.jpeg This is the one I personally drive for 70 K miles . Should of kept it but I needed another 4x4 so the Power Wagon fit the need .

  23. This is the photo of what the truck looked like when he installed a new bed, running boards & rear fenders and assembled everything for fit before blowing it apart. HRP

Nice! The first shop truck for the Esso station was a 1948 F-1. It was replaced by the '58 F-100 that I still have.

I was wondering what Dave has been up to.
Is this the truck he was going to build as a daily driver?
