Made it to the salt on Wednesday
The salt is hard to the 3.5 mile which is ok as we (Chick) will be shutting down by then
Some COVID stuff to keep crews and SCTA safe inspections are being made in the pits with all wearing masks

Please take the health and safety guidance seriously.

I may not get along with all of you, but there is not one single one of you that I would wish sick, or dead.

Think of the mask as a roll cage, and 5-point harness. Just one more piece of safety equipment.

Tony, loose flywheel bolts are very common on a racing GMC. I can show you a stack of flywheels to prove it. Two things can be done, three 3/8” solid dowels made a major difference but the addition of an ATI Super Damper eliminated the problems.
You see them on so many engines today, I can’t say for other engines but on a GMC they are the answer..and yes I have tried at least 5-6 other manufacturers of dampers...

. . . and that's what's called a "great course"? Looks like they forgot to add the salt to the recipe of a great course.

Stan, Stan, Stan the road in is not the course,,, but you will have to ask Chick as she was the one who made the two passes, not me as I am just the lot boy.
I think me George did well on the tract with his almost 500mph runs.
The white roadster made pass after pass as they tried to blow up a motor and he had a smile on his face the whole time.....

This years Speedweek surface was actually really good compared to last year at least. it was similar to the good surface in 2018 the salt was hard but not very thick. Pits were dry overall not much salt sticking to the tow vehicles or cars driving around the place. We put 19 miles on the flathead in our race car from 190 MPH to the high 180's got into impound twice and finally bumped the teams fuel record using gasoline. Think about that for a moment full throttle for 19 miles with no block damage no cracks theres still lots more left in this engine. We had some issues with the fabricated intake which we worked on after each run but other than that it was another successful run at Speedweek. This was our fifth year in a row running at Speedweek our flathead powered rear engine modified roadster so far we have set and reset records 7 times. This makes the long journey West worth it.
Heres an in car video of one of our runs my son is at the wheel speed is 190.1
I forgot to add we had the only stock block flathead in Impound this year.

Ronnie – Congratulations! (Again, some more.) Watching the tach run past 6 with a flathead would make me be glad it was behind me. You've surely conquered it.

Tony – He got his 200. What little data I saw he was fat the whole time. Gotta lean it out to get more. It'll never get the record (again), but makes for a good ride. Those 30-year-old Batchelor engines sure hold together.

Stan I noticed the white roadster running a bunch of times I actually thought they would run out of gas it was good to see the car is being used. I recall years ago seeing my flathead well past 7 she held together its amazing how high they rev if you downshift to second crossing the finish line!

  29. So awesome for you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
